REFLECTION
Researching this topic was quite challenging, as I was very out of my field and unknowledgeable about mental health. However, I feel that most of my questions were answered, like at what point one's symptoms warrant treatment, which is when they interfere with daily functioning. As well as what symptoms are there and how they can be represented. I feel that, especially after the interviews, I should be very careful about how to portray the symptoms. But the information gathered will definitely help me with my project since I plan to implement the most likely symptoms from the two trauma events most commonly associated with PTSD into the main character, helping me accurately portray the mental disorder and making the story relatable to PTSD sufferers enough to help them realize their issues and seek help.
Limitations
-
My survey sample size is quite small. As the topic is sensitive, I gave the option of choosing not to reply, so many questions were unanswered, which I feel might lead to insufficient data.

-
It was difficult finding 2 willing interviewees as medical professionals are very busy. I would've liked to gather more insight from more professionals to see the similarities in responses, as those prove to be more definitive.

Ultimately, even after much convincing, a person can only get help if they want to help themself.
